mk2escortmad Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 i need help desperatly ( not just in my head lol ) i drove my car last night after having a pinto and auto box fitted ( cuz im disabled) and the box has lost all gears completly.....engine runs fine. does anyone local to plymouth know anything about these boxes so they could take a look for me please cheeRS
M.Bird412E Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Have you checked the obvious stuff like the oil level on the gearbox, auto box's wont work if the oil levels too low! Hope this helps!

over_head_cam Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 it's really difficult to try and guess what's wrong m8. Did this happen while you were driving along, or woill it just not select any gear when you are standing still?
mk2escortmad Posted January 30, 2008 Author Report Posted January 30, 2008 i was driving last night and it kept jumping out of Drive then locking back into place and then nothing at all....no drive whatsoever...so not i had it recovered back last night and the engine runs fine but no Drive, Reverse 2nd or 1st gears...i can actually rev the engin in any gear and the car wont move

jimbo Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Could it be an upset between marrying the pinto lump to the x-/flow transmission? Maybe the x-flow's flexplate doesn't marry up with the torque converter so well, now that it is fitted to a pinto crank? I guess that with auto boxes being so fussy, you will have to get things well within the tolerances.
