Mate i did mine for under 3k. 18x15x8 2nd hand pre fab garage cost a grand

the digging cost about 500 and concrete base cost about 650 (8 metres)

van hire (for garage collection) about 200

odds and sods - lost bolts, brackets, new roof etc 200

and i still owe for some of the favours that i got in the dismantling and moving

but thats it mate, its hard work but its done and dusted :D

ive got one of those prefab things...Tis poop.

Was quoted £4.8k to have a new one put up and new base down, as the tree roots have lifted the base up in some areas and the garage is wonky.

With that lot allow at least 8 grand if you do some yourself.

I built a large double garage 10 years ago to that sort of spec did a lot of it myself.

I used double thickness thermolite blocks rendered inside and out inspection pit with a pitch roof and tiles, then fitted a proper ceiling, all mains connections though i never connected the gas as it was warm enough without too much heating, 2 garage doors cost me 5 grand was quoted 10 by a builder.

Depends where you live as well its quite expensive to do anything in Oxford !!

this is with the sides off and over half the roof joists down (i was stood at the top cutting them down with a handsaw :( oh the joys of being the youngest  )

now in its place is going a bigger car barn to store about 6/8 osf's which will leave me some more room to buy more cars  ,

dunno what its gonna cost but we're buying a jcb and it'll be about 40ft by 45ft
