Ive got quaife 2.39 or 2.48 first i think cant remember exactly and used to have a 4:4 salisbury with standard shafts and launching off the line at 6000rpm spinning a little then hocking up and going how i never broke a shaft i dnt know. your engine maybe different to mine tho i find mine dnt pull hard until way up the rev range :ykt:
My engines not peaky is got lots of mid-range grunt so hoping it can pull from lowish revs ok but won't know until i've tried it up there really . I might fit a 4:4 and try that one time but won't unless i really have to because my motorway cruising speed will drop down :(
i done a 13.19 with 4:1 but it just try and error realy a. good luck :ykt::thumbsup: i also was doing about 130 mph down the mad mile racing wayne pow in his purple corsa once 4th gear flat out at 8000 rpm :mrgreen:

Cool a 13.1 with a 4:1 diff is good news then Billy :ykt: . With a 130mph top speed to match then that is fast enough in an old escort i think

cheers simon , i value your opinion because you've been in most of the U.K.'s quickest N.A. 4 pots and know what they go like :ykt: . I won't go faster than a 2.0sec 60 foot so will be very happy if i can do a 13.5 sec pass in my "comfy" full weight street motor

I hate to say it to but that was a quick car he was on my rear quater all the way up there i know this is making excuses but i did have my mate pat with me who weighs about 18, 19 stone so i would say it was a draw. he told me he did a 13.0 at pod which is King quik for a corsa a :ykt::thumbsup:

Blimey Billy that's a quick corsa alright , what engines in it then ? Your 19 stone mate would have slowed you down lots , you should have booted him out and picked him up afterwards

Certainly is. Mark, who had it before me, practically lived there. I've added a bit of weight and a N/A cossie engine so will be nice to see what it will do now. Thinking of going to the pod on the 16th March.

them tyres are the nuts didnt spin up at all on my 13.0 just bog down then went gaz you've got to get out of the gate to get good times :ykt::thumbsup:

YFKT Billy ..... don't matter what bhp, tyres, shafts, diff you got - if you can't get off the line you lose the time (ooh, that rhymes  ) .... seriously though., I know my car is not the quickest out there and I'm a girlie and all that but it's not the same as launching off the traffic lights on the high street and I don't think some people realise that if they've never done it before - and no, I'm not being patronising either. I think it would surprise a few people :ykt:

Well as long as the weather's good I'll be there. Was 225bhp at Track n Road in Cossiematt's car.

I read about your engine, hope it's not too bad. Known about your car for years and would love to see it in the flesh.

Amazing what has an insane effect in the membrane... :ykt:

I had to have a MKII RS2K after one screamed past me (while in my old Triumph Toledo) back in the late 80's... 8)

And had to have a 2.2 pinto after being punched in the stomach by the low down torque when in one and seeing the Harris' ones at the Pod... 8)

And now I want a 2.4 pinto... coz they're 'ard

Yes mate it's the noise that i love the most . Twin DCOE carbs sound good on anything but the atmo cossies have a certain extra something in the noise department that's for sure :ykt: . I feel sorry for the whooooooosh psssssssst turbo posse cos they sound pants at best !!!!!!
