hi i wonder if anybody has tuned a auto mk2 escort,my mate haz one he is itching to make it go faster he thinks twin 40s will work but it wont rev hard enough will it?any ideas??

how bout a manual box or does he need to keep it auto ?

That's be the best mod, manual box an pedal box + a lightened

manual flywheel.

 

Then go for a mild/fast road cam, any bigger and you'll

need deeper pockets in the pistons.

 

Maybe a ported head, then u can go bigger valves

 

Get a 4-2-1 manifold, and a 2"-2 1/2" exhaust

 

To be honest, 40's won't make a standard engine any faster/quicker

you'll get an induction noise but that'll be it

yeah it would be nice but the car has to be an auto would a torquer cam make a difference .what do u think?

Go for a fast road spec head, a lively cam plus filter and zorst,

and a 32/36 weber carb will make it a bit more fun.....

 

..... especially when u hit the kickdown on a wet roundabout

 

Or jus filter/zorst for now, then the head work at a later date
