The 9 page spec of Colin's escort is unreal, id be here all night giving you all the detail, some tech info from the write up...fully independant suspension all round with McPherson struts front and rear, geometry is fully adjustable, Proflex struts adjustable for preload, rebound and high and low-speed compression damping -cost £8,000. Transmission has a magnesium casing for lightness and strength, a sequential unit with an electronically operated paddle shifter on steering column, special design means the engine can be mounted low in car (330mm back & 50mm down) using a 7.5mm Sierra Cossie diff casing with a Gripper LSD. Brakes- Forrest-spec Alcon four pots on 285mm vented discs (all round), two piston APs for the rear. Gearbox specially built with sequential shift action & a paddle gearchanger just like a F1. A Millington engine, (Millington buy in blank heads from Cosworth) 2.5litre top rally spec, with hybrid Weber Alpha/Jenvey throttle bodies, kicks out 335bhp at 7750rpm and 235lbf.ft of torque at 5600 in a car weighing 900kg - enough carbon-fibre to make an F1 car. Nearly everything on the car moved to get it as close to the centre of gravity as poss. The engineering involved in putting the wee beasty together is amazing.....
