Does anyone know if you can swap the input shaft from a type E into a type 9?

The type 9 that I've just fitted only has 30mm of spline which isn't enough for my twin plate clutch, where as my old type E has a long spline on it. Spoke to quaife and they don't do anything with a longer spline so how does everyone else get round this?

Type E: Plenty of length!

Type 9: Not enough!

Sorry for the bright pics but the camera I was using isn't the best!

No can do. On the type E the input shaft spline continues into the clutch release bearing sleeve but on the type 9 it stops 10mm short, that's where the problem is, the rear clutch plate is only sitting on the last 2mm of the spline.
