Yeomans22 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 Hi my mk2 escort goes for new wings etc on the 6th of may and then for an mot, the car will need a full respray, but im thinking of just painting the new parts with aerosols from halfords, just to make it all roughly the same colour, just for the summer, as i need to put a bigger engine in etc soon. it think it would be better to wait a bit until ive got everything how i want it and then have it painted properly. I know it won't look brilliant. what do you all think? Thanks Paul.
antz Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 better to have it protected with what you can afford until you can get a full respray if you get a colour match from halfords itll look near-ish and get a respray when you can afford it.
Yeomans22 Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Posted April 27, 2008 halfords sell the colour in the sprays there, ive just spend £500 on interior and another engine, its gonna be about £300-£400 for the bodywork and then needs an mot, an i should be booking a holiday tomorrow which will prob be another £500, and my daily car needs a cambelt change too. so i think would be better to just DIY it for now,
Rick Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 could always do a satin black job til you can afford
mrmoo Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 ive fitted a new wing on my capri but cant afford to get the whole car done halfords can i reckon if i started with satin black id want to do the whole car for the madmax look
