radar tech Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 check plug gaps / tappets then when the engine warm try , dis connecting the timing vacuum advance , turn the idle up to about 1500 rpm. The adjust distributor timing to the fastest running point then back it off a bit. Then do the same with the mixture . start with the mixture screw running lean (more out than in). re-connect the vacuum qadvance then take it for a spin. if it pnking just kock the timing back a nadge more . it may help
old skool freestyler Posted May 8, 2008 Author Report Posted May 8, 2008 its 99% sorted now tappets were well out so was the mixture but now when its running it tappetey but dont misfire so give and take for now i think ill have another go later on when i get the chance but till have a play with the timing when its not just been out on a rag
