exhaust mount help

Just took delivery of my lovely new 2.5" ashley twin box system to mate up to my Xe manifold, theres only one mountin point on the system at the back box, is this ok or do i need to weld on another mount somewhere else? Also whats best way to mount it? i was gonna bolt it to boot floor and space it out using rubber bushes to give it some movement?

You won't get the poxy thing to fit without cutting it about and that rear mount thing they weld on is useless . The rear boxes are also too foooooking big and hit the leaf spring if you want it to exit out the proper position !!!!!!! . I chopped the rear mount off and used the original mk1 escort rubber + hanger . I also used a strap and an exhaust clamp hanging off the normal bracket before the axle or you can weld on your old exhausts centre bracket to the new exhaust . I'll get you a photo later

Ok here's my rear box after i chopped it up a bit . I just put a clamp around it and bolted a straight piece of metal to the clamp nuts . This then nut and bolted through an exhaust rubber (using big washers either side) and hanging on the original mk1 escort rear exhaust hanger . Sounds a bit drastic but it works and hasn't fallen off yet !!!!!!!!

they are a shit fit, had to a 2 1/4" got pissed off and sold it and put a 2" on and that was a shit fit aswell

Cheers gents, yer i know they're a shitbag to fit but couldnt get anything else for my xe conversion, no worries about hitting leaf springs as i went 5 link, big worry is my mig is in pieces after my small write off incident in my truck!! Anyone got a descent mig!!
