mk1rob Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 ....regarding fitting bucket seats. Im just fitting some Corbeau Sprints in my car. Ive trial fitted them but they seem really low. Is it right to just bolt them straight to the floor or should they be raised up somehow? Could anyone else that has fitted bucket seats let me know how you've done it? Pics would be great too! Savvi Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 Mine are raised with home made welded in brackets on the van. On the Anglia i welded in some raised box section between the gearbox tunnel,floor and inner sill. I was hoping it would provide extra strength and a good seat support then bolted seat runners onto it allowing the seat to still adjust.

Tom Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 whichever way you do it you need a 40x40mm (minimum) plate around each fixing point on the body. You don't want the seat ripping out if the worst were to happen.
