mk2dk Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 I have the same problem on my mk2 Escort Tried some 3M cleaning fluid and it was'nt any good. Will try something more aggresive
MR "S" Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 POSSIBLY TRY A SMALL DROP OF PETROL OR WHITE SPIRIT-CAREFULLY. WORKS ON STICKERS ON GLASS ETC.
Retro-gone. Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 you can buy something called 'tar and glue remover', my son uses it in the car valeting trade so i dare say most valeters use it, thinners will do the job too but will also remove paint and soften vinyl, plastics etc so be carefull if you use it.
mk2 stu Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 If your painting and priming then why not go back to metal ? Use 80 grit tilll the steel grins through then use 180 grit on a DA, Otherwise speak to a vinyl roof fitter they know the best way to take em off
mk2escortmad Posted June 22, 2008 Author Report Posted June 22, 2008 ideal, cheerS for the help guys, i think i just try to grin and bear it and use a bit more elbow grease lol
