How do i plumb in a heater matrix?

plumb in a heater matrix into this system...

 

 

basically the water pump is pumping streight from the bottom hose into the water pump.

then out the back of the engine through the thermostat. into the top samco hose back into the top of the rad.

 

the retro rides system has an outlet on the back of the engine for the heater hose.... BUT there is no return for the heater return... how would i plumb this in??

and if i need to get a T piece to go into the bottom hose or top hose where can i get these from?

and ill need reducers as the heater matrix pipe is smaller than the samco pipe where can i get these from too?

i believe that burtons now supply take offs to fit into silicone hoses. one off of your top and one off of your bottom hose. look @ www.burtonpower.com

but if i have a takeoff off the bottom hose (before the water pump) going into the heater, n then back into the top hose (or on the diagram the aux outlet/inlet at the top of the engine) would this still get flow as its basically bypassing the water pump?

I'd think you'd need to come off the top hose, since this is on the pumping side of the system, then out of the matrix into the bottom hose, before the waterpump.

so out the top hose before the stat, then down out of there to the bottom hose where itll get *hopefully* sucked through with the water thats coming out of the bottom of the rad anyway?

will this have any problems bypassing the stat? or would it have to be on the top hose at the rad side of the stat you think?

when i converyed my escort to zetec i used the heater take off in the water rail and a t piece into the bottom rad hose

As James 1700 said plumb the water rail take off into the matrix (top one if i recall correctly) and tap the other one onto the bottom hose. Thats the correct way to do it.

 

Now iv got my water rail connected this way but i used the top hose as it was easier at the time, its not perfect as it takes an age to warm up.

how did you sort out the brake servo in the way of carbs problem on yours??? or is it out of the way on the escos?

lot easier when someones done it before and knows it works!

ill get a T-piece for the bottom end then =)
