Where I work we have the old push against the rim type and the laser over tyre type but we are in sussex so quite a way to go. Some of the bodyshops keep the tracking equipment so it might be worth asking them or maybe a HiQ type of place and just request they use the older guages.

dunno what theyre called you line them up on the rim of your wheel and look down a telescope thing at the markings opposite

good news  its a laser alignment centre too (guess its better?) and some of my work m8's have had it done too  think there a bit pricy, but being such a big place with a good rep it will be done properly :thumbsup:

and some one at my work had it done, there tyres were wearing too fast (think that was reason) and it all got sorted

get a flat surface,4 axle stand,2 bars that are wider than the car, fishin line and ruler.

but the bars at the front and rear of the car, width ways, fishin line front to rear, then measure the gap between the line and wheel with some maths you can set it up ur self

Thats how I did mine

If you set up your line parallel to the face of the rear wheels then you should even end up with a sraight steering wheel too
