CossieGlyn1 Posted December 8, 2006 Author Report Posted December 8, 2006 I decided not to do it. I'm going to go with 380bhp through the rear wheels and have some fun trying to keep it in a straight line. I got the shell at the weekend, and sent it straight to the body shop for them to do the last bit of welding and get it painted for me. I should have a nice clean painted shell back by the end of next week. All I need to do now is find a crossmember, some front suspension, steering rack, wheels, gearbox, axle, ....... Oh, and retrim my interior and make it all fit. I can feel a lot of long sleepless nights coming soon.
quickrack Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Good on ya! Start buying spare tyres now
you'll get 10s on that Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 Hi The modena green Mk1 with bubble arches was based on an XR4X4 floorpan. now they are cheap enough. Guy fitted 6x15 high inset wheels all round because of the wide track of the 4x4 running gear. Iknow as I supplied the wheels way back in about 1996
mk2 stu Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Anything is possible thats the beauty of steel and imagination! The new issue of retro ford shows a guy using a bmw e36 evo m3 rear axle and driveshafts! Completly redesigned the back end for independant nice! Wish i'd gone mental now and done something like that, budget can hold you back tho!
