Classic hot rods at aldershot

Hi all.

 

Did anyone go to aldershot to watch the old hotrods? It was an ace meeting. Not as many cars as i hoped but was awsome to see the escorts and anglias racing round.

 

I got a video clip on my fone which i will put up soon. Did anyone else get any good snaps?

aldershot isnt a very good track for overtaking though!

that no23 anglia definatly wasnt shy of throwing it around abit

Didn't realise Aldershot had re-opened , remember my Uncle racing there 30 odd years ago.

Its in a different place now. Its at rushmoor arena.

 

The track is similar to the old track caus they tryed to get one corner tighter than the other just like the old track.

 

The new track is very fast and has solid steal plate around the outside with a 4 foot concrete wall. (i wouldnt want to hit that at race speed) Allthoe it is more forgiving than the wires at the old track and wimbledon etc.

they`ve done this at kingslynn as well wonder if its a new health and safty thing

Yeah might be. As much as its f***ing solid it looks safer for both competitors and spectators.

 

Is anyone going this sunday? superstox, 2ltr hotrods, natnial hotrods and bangers i think.
