jaymk1cossieestate Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 what a s..t weekend wished i stayed at home
kevmk2 Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I never bother with pod if there is any sign of rain Just a waste of time and money, only good part is the country lanes going there and coming home, some nice drifting just has to be done, not that the trailor boys would know about that
Baz. Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I never bother with pod if there is any sign of rain Just a waste of time and money, only good part is the country lanes going there and coming home, some nice drifting just has to be done, not that the trailor boys would know about that Kev if I wanted to drive my car there i would,(road legal ) but a sensible head tells me that if it breaks i can still get back home ( not having to wait hours for the AA and getting the car outside the pod gates) there would be no point in you getting a trailor because you hardly ever take your car
kevmk2 Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I may not take it to pod that much ( been once this year) but i have been plenty of other places in it ( not all osf related ) I have got a big mortgage now and have been in and out of work this year ( had no work for past 6 weeks), hence not going to some of the bigger shows and events. Hopefully be back in work soon and back out there next year Also are carbon/kevlar doors road legal? Im sure i read somewhere they are for competition use only Wouldnt like a prang in the side with them on
Baz. Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 We all have big mortgages, kids and bills etc., ur lucky you dont have to find work m8 like me as a self employed builder, ime not guranteed a wage, as a matter of interest wot do you do for a living? As for the doors question, thats why i have a full FIA roll cage WITH DOOR BARS but its still perfectly legal to use glass, plastic, carbon etc, most supa cars have whole bodys made from carbon
kevmk2 Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Well im a class 2 lorry driver usually. But i had enough of that recently and tried doing cctv for a drain company, that lasted 3 months and the work dried up and they made me redundant. So i dont have many options for work apart from lorry driving, it doesnt pay that great nowadays, most companys wont pay more than £8 an hour due to the pol's coming over and working for pennys And now there is no work out there due to the credit crunch I am registered with 4 agencys and none of them have any ongoing work, its odd days here and there, so you end up with the odd days work and lucky if you take home £150 a week And the mortgage is over £900 a month thats without council tax etc etc Now where are those violins Only work i've had lately is with my mate Icky as a safety man. Basically whilst he is down a manhole doing jointing work for B.T i have to keep an eye out and sit in the cold for hours on end But that work has dried up a bit, so in the mean time i have been getting his mk1 ready for the old 2.2 pinto to go in it to replace the zetec that was in it. So thanks to Icky i paid my mortgage this month
Baz. Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Its a tough life mate, i have a HGV licence , cost me 900 quid, worked on the cards for RMC did my fookin head in, shit job, shit money, shit people thinking there god in the office, only good thing was holiday and sick pay!! only stuck it for 3 months as i had to leave before i run the transport manager over with his own lorry, i nearly had the d ick h ead twice that was my first and last job on the cards many moons ago as for morgage mine is £ 1225 a month before anything else poll tax, bills childcare, running costs, so 900 aint too bad, my wife only works a few hours which dont help,Does your pertner work? as for polish you dont now the half mate i price jobs and the polls undercut me by hundreds mind you its funny when i get the call after they have fooked it up coz it costs twice as much to put it right
kevmk2 Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I know what you mean about lorry driving being shit My class 2 cost £820 5 years ago. Should of done my class 1 at the same time, but had enough of driving lessons after a weeks intensive training! Thats one reason why i don't want to do it. Ive nearly come to blows with a few transport managers in the past, the tossers My partner works part time, but that doesn't go very far Thats why when it comes to an event, i have to think, should i go and spend £100 on a day out or go Tosco's and but the shopping for the family Seeing as i havnt been out much, you can see where the money goes
