After reading my ford service manual, the operation of the brake servo seems simple enough.. am i right in thinking if i extend the the push rod from the pedal, i can move the servo further foward into the engine bay?

how does a remote servo work?

Yeah if you extend the push rod you can move the servo just gotta make sure you don't change the geometry too much, if you change the angles on the rod you might find it jam against somthing or changes the amount of movement on the pedal. But aslong as you test it before you make the final fixings you should be ok. Had to do a bit of this on a MK1 fezza i had

when you say geomatry, i am i right in thinking if i keep the angle of the rod the same all should be ok? and i can extend the bar as far as i need, ( has to go to front of the capri bay)

Yeah just keep the angles the same n it should be ok.

Try googling remote servo that might bring up how they work etc give you another line to go down. Extending the rod the whole length of the car you might find it gets in the way of other stuff.
