TwoLitrePinto Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 if your coil says "electronic ignition" on it its wrong lol anyway, check the spark directly from the coil, if its weak there change the coil, point & condenser. if its strong there but weak at the HT leads, start looking at the distributor cap (including the tiny carbon tip in the middle), rotor arm, and ignition timing... if the distributor timing is too far out, the spark will barely reach from the rotor arm to the point on the distributor cap, which results in the edges bieng burnt to a crisp and a cap that lasts 5mins. then obviously the plugs. if theres still a weak spark after all then either you are setting the points wrong, or there is a bad earth to the coil or something
