stevepeanut Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 when I bought my mk2 my mate threw me in a nice pair of spotlights. I dont really want to fit them, cos I prefer the car without them. But... I was inspired at the RAC rally when walking round the service area. I always thought the rally cars kept the spotlights on all the time. But most of the cars were taking them off in the day and refitting them for the dark stages. Does anyone know if anyone makes a removable bracket or some kind of quick release system. It would be ace to keep them in the boot, and be able to get them out and whack them on for night driving
tim Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 nearly all spot light bracket for mk2 are quick release, there in 2 parts,1 bits bolts to the front panel and the 2nd part just bolts on and off with the lights attatched.
mk1mexico Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Dont forget to fit bullet connectors to the supplying wiring
stevepeanut Posted November 18, 2008 Author Report Posted November 18, 2008 cool I'll have a look around at some brackets, I may even have some in the boot of the car come to think of it
MexDan Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Escorts look great with Lamps on the Front.. As MK1Mex said just crimp up so bullets on the wires leading up to the spots... Make sure you wire the "socket" crimp to the wiring thats staying on the car and the "plug" crimp to the removable lights.. otherwise if you flick the wrong switch you may pop a few fuses!!
ray1609 Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 what do you reckon..... Capri Mk3 black spotlights or no spotlights??? i am just not sure hmmm
