aden Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 i have them connected with a scart lead, and to be honest ive never been overly impressed with the picture, is there a better way of doing it? or a better way of setting it up? its not the hd sky box btw, and its a 32in samsung hd ready 1080p thamks in advance
2.8i Cossie Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 dump the scart lead and use HDMI! or at least componants instead of scart. Its the worst possible connection you will never get 1080p through a scart
lotusless Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 where do you get a hmdi from?? i looked on maplins site + couldn't work out what to use???? is it a cable or another box you have to buy? where do you get it from?
2.8i Cossie Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 HDMI cables can be bought from any electrical shop http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5347964/Trail/searchtext%3EHDMI+CABLE.htm http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1066511253.1227556648@@@@&BV_EngineID=cceladefkgffledcflgceggdhhmdfno.0&page=SimpleSearchProducts&low_bound=0&up_bound=0&criterion=hdmi%20cable&AtimeStamp=3404966837 Although i wall mounted my tv and had to track mine into the wall so i got 5m long HDMI cables from this site http://www.keene.co.uk/
aden Posted November 24, 2008 Author Report Posted November 24, 2008 can you use a hdmi cable with a non hd sky + box?
2.8i Cossie Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 no just looked up google there. The older boxes are just scart connections. There is no way to uprate the picture unfortunately. Can you not ask for an upgrade? Ring up sky and say you are going to cancell and get virgin or something and see if they will upgrade it for you in a bid to keep your business

2.8i Cossie Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 thing is you can upgrade without taking the HD channels. You still get the better picture quality without the full HD package. Might be an option
aden Posted November 24, 2008 Author Report Posted November 24, 2008 can ya? i didnt realise that, thanks mate i will look in to that then thanks again
over_head_cam Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I've got a Tosh 37 1080 and Sky+ and I'm quite pleased with the picture quality. Some of the cheaper channels can get a bit crappy at times, but for the most part it's more than acceptable. Perhaps the lead you're using is't up to the job? Deffo agree HD would be best, but there's always the £££'s to think about
