last run out of 2008

Aint driven the escort for about 2 months now. Got asked to go up to the xmas stages rally at Croft, and it was a nice dry day, and no gritting for a few days so thought I'd give the car one last run out for 2008.

 

Tried to fire it off the battery, no good. Pulled out my halford power box thing, flattened that just as I got the first signs of the engine firing. Had to push the car through a 10 point turn to line it up with the front of my works merc van to jump it off the battery. Opened the bonnet of the van, no sign of the battery! Got the van manual, turns out the battery is under the drivers footwell and I didnt have the star keys to open it. Finally pushed the car off the drive to my lasses astra and jumped it from there. Ran fine and had a really good run out and put 150 miles on it. Rally at croft was ace with some nice mk1 and mk2 escorts plus some other cool stuff like minis and mantas.

 

My arms and chest are bloody aching today though from all the pushing!
