32evo Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Got a new electric ign set up from H&H, which includes new dizzy and group A dry cell coil. The set up is fitted to a 1600GT x/flow running twin forties, can anyone tell me what is the best plugs to use and i understand i can open the gap with this set up but i dont know by how much. At the moment the car sounds much nicer and more responsive, but would like to fit a better set of plugs
Dalek Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Without stating the obvious have you asked H&H themselves ? They would surely know best ? Cheers Craig
Toby Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 NGK BP6ES for road use Good plugs, good advise. BP6ES for road, BP7ES for fast road, more tuned, and BP8ES for high compression race engines. Too high a number will soot up and too lower a number will potentially be a cause of pre-ignition / pinking / detonation. (High numbers in the NGK brand are "colder" plugs - I think Champion numbers go the other way - I prefer NGK anyway) You won't notice much from playing with the gaps IMO, stick with the book 0.028" maybe open them up 0.002 if you like - I do with my lumenition set up
