Takeshi Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Put the Caprin for its MOT today. This what was he found so far before stopping, on bodywork alone.... OSF top strut OSF floor OSF top spring mount area NS top spring mount area NS floor NS floor to sill NS inner wing by suspension OS front of rear spring hanger area He didnt even test it, as it wasn't worth it. Reckons the welding'll cost, £300 - £400 on it owns, without any other problems, which I know it has. I cant afford that kind of money, plus after I spent all that it still wont look any different. The last MOT must of been a joey, cos it wouldn't get that bad in less than 12 months. So I've decided to cut my losses - I know some of you will say get it done but I cant justify spending that kind of money on it. I nearly cried after he told me, I love the car so much but at the end of the day, it is just - a car. in the big picture it'll probably cost around £500 - £600+ to get upto a decent standard. So it'll be in the for sale section...hit me up if you want a look at it...
DEP Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Sorry to hear that mate, Rust is one of the biggest headaches on old cars ,,Best save your money, and get something that requires less work, Then maybe if funds allow, get some welding lessons
