just thinking out loud here and I think I know the answer, is there a way to wire up relays in series say 3 of them so you can use them in stages from 1 signal only Im thinking of using nitrous in 3rd, 4th & 5th only, and have a clutch opperated switch, launch, depress clutch, fire 1st relay, clutch again fire 2nd relay, clutch & fire 3rd relay which will switch the gas on,

What you would have is the first relay not only fire the first stage but supply feed to the second relay and then the second relay fire and feed the third. Not sure about how you would go about wiring it as you may find it going of as soon as you put your foot down unless you have a thumb switch that you flick as you go into third starting the first feed.

The first idea was to stage, arm the circuit with a thumb switch on the steering wheel, this fires a self latching relay, with a NO switch on the clutch pedal in the up position, so when you press the pedal down, the circuit makes and fires the next latching relay, pedal down again and thru the latching relay into the next relay and then on to the gas, I still cant visualise if you feed the relays like this initialise the 2nd relay which is controlled by the pedal, will it automaticially fire the 3rd relay as soon as it makes contact?? I think it will!! which is why I am asking stupid questions.!! :?:?

On the safety side there would be a kill switch on the brake pedal that would open the circuit.

thanks for that, just confirms my thoughts, back to the drawing board., Rotary switch may work, but probably need resetting each run, which probably means I will forget to do this, the next thought would be electronic, which means I wil have to go back to basics, as chips are a bit beyond me

If you look towards the bottom of the page that the link I put up earlier there is not only a 3 stage timer unit but also the parts to build one yourself so it might be worth sending them an email. Good luck with it though.

KJ is the man to ask really ian, but you can use a progressive controller like ours and set the delay so it wont be used in first  and you can use a launch from the clutch pedal

you can see the controller next to the MSD
