how do you make stuff transparent

i think to make completely transparent ya click the eye button next to the corresponding layer...... i think, i am still learning

in gimp its CTRL button and L, adjusts the opacity of the layer

[over_head_cam]

In PS you double click the layer in the 'layers' window, a box will come up and you can adjust the opacity of the layer you want
