jimbo Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 The Escort must be upset because it knows we're planning on selling it....Sour grapes and all that It just started making a noise over the last couple of days........ Initially, it stared making a clanky bouncy boing......Thought the exhaust was coming off. rejigged the mounts and seemed OK. Noise came back today though The clanky boing happens under acceleration, and gets higher in frequency as I speed up. Then when you take your foot off the gas the car vibrates. The problem comes and goes.....But it's very unnerving. Guessing it's to with the prop, UJ or CV joint (it's a two piece), but how can I tell which it is. Or is there anything else that it might be. Your suggestions are always welcomed Cheers, Jim
rodbasher Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 how about engine mount are they ok?
vibrating_Cake Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 are the leafsprings polybushed??? might need a little lube on em? also check all your bushes, if you have a slight wheel wobble bushes will make random noises as they flex funny
TwoLitrePinto Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 id just whip the prop off and check for play in the joints, not a big job.
