badchild Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Those of you who are frequent on osf would probably know that me and my fiance (forgot to pit up a post saying i got engaged ) had had a miscarriage last year (the birth date would have been the day after st valentines day ) Well anyway, my fiances sister also fell pregnant 5 months ago and yday her waters broke and she went into labour and was rushed to hospital where she suffered a miscarriage as well and they're absolutley gutted like we were and it turns out, after everybody admitted, that most of the family at one time or another have suffered from one or more, is that, like, normal? I havn't really talked much about the subject with the family apart from my fiance because it's pretty awkward to bring up in convesation but do things like that run in the family or something? It's really confusing after me and Dawn (getting tired of saying my fiance already ) having one then thinking it was a one off now at least 10 coming to light Is it normal to run in the family?
Mrs O/H/C Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Its not always the fact it runs in the family..i think you will find most women have suffered at least 1 mis-carriage at one time or another. Sorry for your loss...if it helps i had a mis-carriage but i went on to have 4 children. Good Luck for the future and keep trying
badchild Posted March 19, 2009 Author Report Posted March 19, 2009 no probs, cheers lol, weve got over it now like, just concentrating on the engagment now trying to save money (AGAIN) for the big day lol
Mrs O/H/C Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Good luck to you both in the future, and be positive that one day you will be parents
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 20, 2009 Admin Report Posted March 20, 2009 If you google it, there is masses of websites to read out there and they may give you an insight into just how common miscarriages are but also how many people go on to have healthy pregnancies and births without any further complications. If you are unsure, it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor or health visitor Good Luck to you and Dawn and congratulations on the engagement
Ken B Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Me and my missus lost our first some years back, i seem to recall the doc at the hozz saying the rate is like 1 in 5. But dont let the figures bother you. I now have young lad and all is well with him. You have to be positive, though from a female point of view its never that easy, certainly wasn't with my missus.
Pipster007 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 I have a couple of friends that tried for kids after they got married, but they had 3 miscarriages. Finally they a had a boy after 8 yrs of trying and then a girl a year later. The girl is now 8 mths old and both are as healthy as can be These things happen and all will work out fine. Keep trying and you'll soon be proud parents
