GJUK Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Hello, I need to get some insurance for my car, while its off the road getting repaired. Can anyone suggest a company that would do this kind of cover please. To cover a car while it was being transported/in storage/being worked on. Thanks Jon
63tina Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 I got a quote for my cortina for off road/ layed up cover from footman james and it was £49 for the year

Dalek Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Another £50 would probably insure the car for the whole year off Footman James
Smudger105e Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I have 4 Anglias and a Mk1 Fiesta with FJ, no limited mileage, agreed value on 2 of them, fully comp, £115 a year
GJUK Posted April 9, 2009 Author Report Posted April 9, 2009 Well. Footman james wouldnt cover me as im under 25. Adrian Flux did a £420 quote fully comp with value of 6k. Lay up cover with Adrian Flux was ~£200. Very strange that my age comes in to lay up cover. Will try and work something out and keep phoning around for quotes Thanks guys
Copey Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Very strange that my age comes in to lay up cover. just reason for them to put it up mate really or, if you want a sensible answer if you wanted full ins you may kick up a fuss over already being insured with them and why wont they insure you on the road etc, just savin themselves the hassle
Dalek Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 They must have heard about the roof incident jono hence the high premium.
