Mr Sam Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 cheers fella, i think its a tuned engine with a non standard carb thats pretty rare i told him to look up what the transits used and the saab sonnets
JP. Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 The 2.0 V4´s are running basicly the Weber same carb as used on a 2.0 Pinto OHC. Only difference is the primary & choke is on the other side. 2.0 V4 had Weber 32/36 DFAV 1.6GT OHC & 2.0 OHC had Weber 32/36 DGAV US Capris had the same carb on their 2.0 OHC´s in the early 70´s ( at that time European Capri´s didn´t run 2.0 OHC´s. The 2.0 OHC came available in 1978 for the Capri). This means you can use the 32/36 carb from a 1.6GT or 2.0 OHC Capri or rebuild it with the same rebuild kit. If you'r gone use the later 32/36 carb you'll have to modify or rotate the throttle bracked as your cable has to move to the other side of the carb ( remember primary is on the otherside) and probably swap your own jets. Some Capri carbs have a fuel return pipe as your carb probably aint. Just block it.
corsair dean Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 yeah must be! looked at mine today and its a single webber
Mr Sam Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 cheers for that ill pass the info onto them and offer them a 32/36 i have lying around
