Advise on what engine

I have decided to V8 the mk5 cortina but I dont know what engine to use, its a choice between a rover v8 or a ford small block maybe a 302 cleavland or windsor.

Would like to use the ford v8 so it keeps the whole car a ford but i'm a bit worried about parts and availabilty but on the other hand I'd like to use a rover v8 as they are plentifull and parts are ready available.

 

any comments or advive on either engine is welcomed.

Im using a Rover in my Mk2, BUT if I was starting from scratch I would be lo0king at a SBF, I would stay awat from a Cleveland, especially a 302C, aussie thing with too large ports/valves for the engine, and not much low down grunt,

Depending on how much you want to spend, you can probably buy a 302W with a T5 on the back for sensible money, spares are not a problem with plenty of people importing stuff, and the prices are not too bad, have a look at Real Steel, they sell CutOuts, or even fleabay, you can pick up rough day vans for reasonable money
