badchild Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Hi, I was leaving Dawn down to see her ma a few mile down the road from me and just down from her house in an old fenced off enclosure I saw a familiar looking roof shape, a mk2 capri, so I just had to go and have a nosy I've seen the 30.s before but until today id never seen a 20.s, Id only ever heard of one in classicford this month. Sadly shes fooked though with no panel free of rust inc the roof and i had no camera with me at the time to take photos but ill try to get some up. The question is what kind of spec did these have inside because the seats look salvagable as well as the steering wheel and sadly thats about it Just how rare are these capris? Thanks, ryan.
caprinerd Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 the spec is the same as the 3.0's' apart from running gear, all mk2's are rare as in this period british steel went on strike and ford used steel from other countries and the quality was not the best so they rotted out very quick
badchild Posted May 24, 2009 Author Report Posted May 24, 2009 Might be able to get my hands on it for salvage, what parts are worth keeping and would be of any particular interest? It would definitley be too far gone for any resto project which is a shame
caprinerd Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 front grill as they were black with no chrome, interior , gear box as they were bullet proof (almost anyway) any parts from the running gear that are in good order
Mick The Cabbie Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 A Mk2 Capri S should have a plastic lower front spoiler. I'd say a good 50% of the cars I see are missing this bit. If present and intact, they're worth good money! Interiors are sought after too if in good nick. Front legs, engine, axle and lot's of other nicknaks all saleable. Deffo worth busting for spares if beyond repair
