its an electric shower

ours has stopped putting out hot water

the switch in the ceiling lights up ok, water comes out as normal, water flow speeds up on cold, and slows a little when turned to hot, this is normal. But for some reason, the water is ice cold on every setting.

wot darren says m8, the element is the week point even worse if you have hard water, they work hard as they heat the water on demand( no storage)

If you do get a new one, make sure it is a higher wattage one. 7.5 Kw are swank, try to go for a 9.6 Kw one, it will be able to heat more water, therefore give you a higher water flow for the same temperature  If you have poor water flow though, don't get a 10.5 Kw one, or you won't be able to get the temperature down low enough!!
