surfingturnip Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 just wondered if there was anyone on here running 4 linked suspension, in particular on a mk2 cortina? how difficult to have fitted? how expensive is it to do? can you still have the rear seats of the car fitted? lots of questions I know so thanks in advance
pauln Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I have been meaning to 4 link mine for ages. I was going to use a RD kit and cut it around to my needs. As for the rear seats if they don't go back I was going to make up a wooden covered pad for my occasional rear passengers.
surfingturnip Posted July 25, 2009 Author Report Posted July 25, 2009 cheers Paul. Just looking for an option instead of just sticking with the bouncy drop arm suspension thats on the estate already
pauln Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Mines currently located (???) with a capri rear arb extended on to the old anti tramp bar mounts. I have been looking for a Capri 3.44 axle (in place of the 3.09) so I only have to do the axle brackets once when I four link, trouble is i'm mean and i don't like the prices so the job keeps putting off (i've got a panhard rod as well that i still have'nt fitted). Eventual plan is to coil over the back and dump the leaf springs ( i must get off my arse and get on with it). When I finally start i will get some photos up in my resto thread.
surfingturnip Posted July 25, 2009 Author Report Posted July 25, 2009 mine's looking like I'm gonna have to cut out a few bits and pieces to get some strut towers made so I can fit coils. Annoying as I dont really want to start chopping bits out but hey ho, you only live once eh
