fostersice Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 hi guys do i use a 2wd manifold or 4wd manifold when fitting a mk2 escort just asking as i pick up my brand new escort cosworth 4x4 engine tomorrow and i know i have to change the sump to a 2wd sump but dont know what else i have to change help please
mk2 escy ron Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 i am led to believe that you should use the 4x4 head and manifold and you wont have any clearence probs cos if you use the 2wd you may have to alter the inner wing slightly. i think the 4x4 mani sits closer to the engine
turnover Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 you can use either manifold on either head ,more clearance with 4x4 manifold but more restrictive if your running alot of power, but up to 400hp 4x4 one is fine with quicker spool on the turbo
fostersice Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 I'm looking to run 375bhp using t34 48housing 360thurst -31 act light blue injectors 3bar map sensor race filter So 4x4 manifold is good so do I need to change anything else, I know I have to change sump But is there anything else??? Thanks guys

fostersice Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 thanks guys i have now sold the 205 blocked 2wd engine and will be picking up the brand new escort cosworth 4x4 engine tomorrow brand new still in the box WOW cant wait
turnover Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 just to let you know if you want to run 375hp on a t34 you will have to run alot of boost ,around 30/32psi and to be fare if you drive it as a daily hard, your turbo wont last long at all just a thought chap, but you could allways invest in a boost controller, which will control the boost better and you can run a lower boost for everyday driving and turn it up for track/quarter mile, just thinking of your pocket
