paul capri Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 I always use the backplate as a template when making another gasket for my atlas. As for an english, am i right in thinking its just a circular gasket? If so, it would be simple enough to make one up without a template, just measure the inner and outer diameters of the axle casing and use a compass to mark up the gasket paper, cut it out, then lay it over the axle casing and mark the bolt holes. Essentially as long as the gasket is all one piece and its big enough to cover all of the mating face it doesnt matter what shape it is.
