mk2_escort_chick Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Under 17's... you can do things such as pct's and autotests. Not track racing I'm afraid, but you learn a lot of car control which helps when it comes to doing your lessons. Also I believe(don't quote me on this, but I should know it!) you can do sprinting. Which is one car on the track/airfield at one time and you get a time for your lap. Great fun and not too expensive either. Local clubs are a great way to meet people and get involved in motorsport. I'm with Borough 19 Motor Club. http://www.borough19motorclub.co.uk/ Even if you join and marshal at a few events, it'll let you see what sort of thing is involved with sprint and race meetings. P.S- when you go on the website, if you look through the gallery and find a little white metro doing a pct...thats me (and my dad hanging on for dear life!)
christophe Posted September 28, 2006 Report Posted September 28, 2006 PCT's and autotests are a cracking place to start, and will teach you more about car control than any sort of driving lesson will. I did one in a nova last year and it was a great laugh Also you can do some circuit racing, as one of the clio cup drivers of the team I work was only 16 at the start of the season, in which case you can probably do some sprints as well, best to check with the MSA though
