is there anyone out there that can tell me what i need to do to my satin black bonnet on my mk1 caper it marks very easy can i get a dull lacur or wot else is there to stop it marking

You can get a matting agent to go in the lacquer to take the shine away, that may help

most paint doesnt use laquer anyways.... 90% of the cheaper cars on the road dont have/use laquer, normally its not used on much, other than metallic cars to bring out the shine of the flake

Have to disagree, having painted brand new cars for a living everything gets lacquer, even solid colours are clear over base.

i agree there nearly everything in our bodyshop gets clearcoated

A decent paint shop may be able to put some in a can for you but the stuff from halfords won't shine much anyway, lol
