sydgoodin Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Hello all, I've been browsing for an hour to see if my problem has been answered already but I can't find a definitive answer. I have Lotus rims and 2.8 Capri vented discs but I'm having trouble finding the correct Wilwood calipers to fit. Here is the message I was going to post: Car: Ford Anglia 105e Struts: Mark 2 Cortina (Milton conversion) Discs: Capri 2.8 vented Wheels: 5.5J Lotus Rims The problem started when I went to fit the Wilwood M16 Midilite calipers I'd been sold by Rally Design. I was told that these were the ones I needed. Problem is the Lotus rims won't fit. Not even close. Not even with smaller spacer washers. I gave Rally Design a ring and they said that it's probably the smaller Superlite calipers that I need after all. I tried them quickly tonight but they don't seem to sit in the correct position around the disc. Admittedly, I haven't had long tonight to play around and investigate it but they don't seem right. Is there anyone out there who has the same Mark 2 Cortina strut, Capri 2.8 vented disc and Lotus rim set up as me? It's not an unusual combination and there must be plenty of people out there in the same boat as me. There must be a set of new calipers out there that will fit. I'd rather not have to go down the route of finding a s/h set of Princess calipers and having them refurbished, if I can just buy new off the shelf... Any help most appreciated. Syd
LEONMEX Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 i have run 2.8 calipers with vented discs & 5.5j lotus rims but on capri struts. Maybe the position of the caliper is different on the cortina strut, some of the willwood calipers will only fit on certain wheels even though they are stated to fit 13" wheels. I was looking at some but you had to run them with 7jX13 wheels & as i was running 5.5j4spokes they would'nt fit. Ive heard of the lotus steals with the bigger rivetts on the inside of the wheel hitting the caliper? Sorry can't help any more than though
mk1mexico Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 My wilwood calipers are sold as 'fit under majority of 13' wheels. So far i know they wont go behind a mexico steel or a mk1 RS2000 alloy, i have never tried a lotus steel though.

Early Mk1 mex steels are the same wheel as Lotus Cortina other than they have slots in them
Andrade Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 I do have wilwood calipers fitted to my anglia, but i am using escort front end and revolutions. still the distance between the rim and the caliper is an extremely tight fit.
