Mrs O/H/C Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Was a great meet....though spent more time chatting than actually looking at the cars. Lead foot and i tried for over a hour and a half to get to the cafe for food and drink, but just bumped into so many people ( even though most kept calling me granny ) In relation to the member who felt outcast...it does take a while to know who is who but also you do have to approach others to introduce yourself. It was worth driving the 2.8 capri up from Cornwall (even though it was a bit costly) And to top it off we went to chelsea cruise in the evening..not many osfs though. Thanks to all that made our weekend great !!
Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 2, 2009 Admin Report Posted November 2, 2009 Unfortunately (Fostersice) it is a public car park and if we approached everyone there on the off chance that they might be an OSF member we would look like a right bunch of knobbers OSF Member: "Hi, I'm RSESCORTBLOKEMADMK1, who are you?" National Trust Rambler who has stopped for a coffee: "Erm ... what the fook are you talking about mate? " OSF Member: " erm, well, erm, it's like this ... oh, it doesn't matter " National Trust Rambler who has stopped for a coffee: "Fookin freak " Unfortunately if we don't know what you look like or what car you might be turning up in then we wouldn't just approach you - don't be offended
MK2Ed Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 I think it sometime a case of getting around, meets, shows, trackdays, drag events, etc the more you get to know people... Does make it easier if you have car with you though imo......
over_head_cam Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Wayne - funny  I'm not allowed to talk to stangers anyway, I usually get arrested for being a weirdo
