dawesy1700 Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 well, i've been toying with the idea of putting a nice bike can on my mk2 escort, its already got bike carbs on so i thought they'd compliment each other nicley, anyway, popped a bid on this earlier n realised i'd won it, for £11, think it'll look well polished up. i know its not everyones cup of tea, but hey ho, lol.
dawesy1700 Posted October 8, 2009 Author Report Posted October 8, 2009 hahaha, nnoooooo, i dont have my licence and cant fit 4 people on a bike, well in a circuis yes, but not on the a66, lol
4parajon Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Would think you might struggle to match up the ex tube from your car up to that can as they are tiny compared to most car exhausts. Even if you do get it to fit it would probable "strangle" the gasses trying to exit and in turn slow you down.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted October 8, 2009 Admin Report Posted October 8, 2009 sounds like a bargain to me! Would think you might struggle to match up the ex tube from your car up to that can as they are tiny compared to most car exhausts. Even if you do get it to fit it would probable "strangle" the gasses trying to exit and in turn slow you down. Doesn't sound like such a bargain to me
Stu_B Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I had one on the back of my old k series rover & RichieRich off here had one on his 1300e till the baffles fell out. They sound good

dawesy1700 Posted October 13, 2009 Author Report Posted October 13, 2009 right, it turned up today, so i had to measure it up and see if it was actually big enough, (i had a vision it wasn't goin to be, lol) and guess what?? its actually bigger than my exhaust system, as the pics show, its a 60mm inlet and 50mm outlet, so i should have no worries with matching up my 50mm system to this, yippee!!! and its straight through
vibrating_Cake Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 what bikes it off.... 50mm sounds like a good en.... could get rid of my chambered centrebox
dawesy1700 Posted October 14, 2009 Author Report Posted October 14, 2009 got it off a gsxr 600, it does say its for cometition use only tho, hehehe.
zetecmk2 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 i got a micron waiting to go on kooltina the inlet is getting on for 3"!!
vibrating_Cake Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 i got a micron waiting to go on kooltina the inlet is getting on for 3"!! jeees nice
dawesy1700 Posted October 14, 2009 Author Report Posted October 14, 2009 see, this what i keep telling people when they say bike cans are too small for cars, i just tell them to look at the high power bikes with big cans n then tell me they're too small, lol, how long till its on?
vibrating_Cake Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 anyone know any bike cans thatll fit over/have 2" pipes fit over onto em? i.e. 50.8mm ID
w p e Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 two mates of mine have tried bike cans on there cars and are now both in the bin as these are designed for short primerys/tuned length. on a car they seem to strangle the performance due to the length of a car system.give it a go you might get lucky
dawesy1700 Posted October 15, 2009 Author Report Posted October 15, 2009 anyone know any bike cans thatll fit over/have 2" pipes fit over onto em? i.e. 50.8mm ID just keep an eye out on febay, thats where i got mine from, ive seen loads on there with a 51mm inlet, look for the "slip on cans", not the bolt on ones.
