mgbgt Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Hi! I got some "conversion plates" for mounting discs on a english axle. I got them when I bought a rear axle for my Cortina. They are made of "alloy" and are marked ENG247F. Don't know how to post pictures but will try to do that. The seller said that they should be used with Sierra calipers and discs. Sounds strange considering most conversion use Peugeot or Fiesta discs.
lotusless Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 get yourself a photobucket account + upload the pictures onto there, then copy + paste the img link on to this site p/m me if you need any help
mgbgt Posted October 18, 2009 Author Report Posted October 18, 2009 Thanks, here's a picture of the conversion parts on a rear axle.
over_head_cam Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Sierra rear calipers( with cable and hydraulic operation) and Fiesta discs is the normal conversion
mgbgt Posted October 18, 2009 Author Report Posted October 18, 2009 Fiesta discs? Is it front discs from Fiesta and what diameter? What about parking brake wire? I read some where that RS2000 mk5 is suitable. Many questions...
over_head_cam Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 You will need a twin cable like the Mk5 escort, but I think you may have to adapt it as they are quite long, and its in 2 bits. Off the top of my head the discs are the standard front fitment on a mk4 Fiesta, but don't quote me on that. I'm sure someone with the exact details will be able to help
livewire7116 Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Depending on what si erra calipers you have determines whether you use solid or vented discs
mgbgt Posted October 19, 2009 Author Report Posted October 19, 2009 Solid discs is the plan. What about the conversion plates on the picture? Anyone familiar with them? Just curious where they come from.
you'll get 10s on that Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 I've got a pair of these ENG247T. They are designed to suit a cossy rear caliper. I bought mine off Darren at Escortec (£18 the pair....less my discount!!!!!!)
