car boiled over coming home from the pod months back so i bought a new thermostat but it ran far to hot so just been running it without one

 

well now the colder weathers here i fancy having some heating :lol: so put it back in and stuck the cooling fan on a switch

 

fine nice and warm :mrgreen: trouble is soon as i came into a town no traffic what so ever so didnt come to a stop at all it went straight into the red :?

 

 

i darent test it in one of me grans saucepans though :?

its happend to me a few times.

 

done a head gasket on a renault megane, put new thermo in it, kept boiling up, tried everything, compression was fine, fan was fine, tried another thermo, perfect.

 

also be careful to put them in the right way :P easy mistake to make!

ill not yet mention which way ive put it for fear of looking very silly (although i only put the new one in how the old one came out)

 

 

but which way up should they be :mrgreen:

just a thought and you probably know this but you get diferent opening temps it will say the open tem on it :thumbsup: also have you got to much antifreeze in cause this can cause overheating

its in the right way then :lol:

 

the coolant was very very green when i opened it up and i topped it up with straight water, maybe thats a little too strong then

 

looking into a better cooling fan too as the fezzy one only gets half of the rad and i think its about fooked
