H.P.E harry Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Been having trouble with fitting my headlights now for a long time! I was given brand new headlights for my birthday but there not a ford brand. I know some people have golf headlights in there mk2's so was wondering how they are fitted? I did manage to get them in but they sit too far back, any ideas would be much appreciated
RETRO_AL Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 I used headlights that were for a golf caddy, just needed to cutt the front panel a little
H.P.E harry Posted October 21, 2009 Author Report Posted October 21, 2009 Did the golf lights fit straight into the ford bowls?
5hane Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 if you get your old headlights, you can taker off the chrome bezzle (two screws) and then put these on the new healights You may need to modify them a lil bit for the sidelight depending where it is on the bulb, takes 5min and then they should fit straight in
RETRO_AL Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Did the golf lights fit straight into the ford bowls? Nah my bowls are fooked so i used the vw ones hence needing to mod the panal a bit
H.P.E harry Posted October 21, 2009 Author Report Posted October 21, 2009 The only thing is my original bowls were badly rusted and the adjusters dont adjust so pretty much ruined them trying to change a bulb Anyone know where i could get some adjusters that would fit?
James HPE Motorsport Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Harry Mate, ive got them headlights! mine are Mk1 golf so the bowls are different but the Mk2 ones are easier to fit! If you space the bowls forward they will sit nice in the grill and im sure you dont have to modify the front panel either as the spacers rectify the clearance issue with the front panel?!?! might be wrong!
