4parajon Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Think you need to put pics of the cage up Glynn or at least have a chat with the manufacturer, should be easy to find out who has supplied it, there's not many making them. I know the cages we make dont have the main hoop drilled, but there maybe a company out there that does drill them for whatever reason. I know that when we started making our cages I contacted the MSA for advice and they were more than happy to help they maybe able to help with why the hoops been drilled??. Funnily enough I contacted them this morning over our cages as a few customers have asked if ours are approved for motorsport use (as currently they are not)and although the photo's I submitted have all been approved they require old skool drawings so I'll have to get them done before we get approved.
X-pack-Glyn Posted December 7, 2009 Author Report Posted December 7, 2009 I really do think you should take this up with the manufacturer before you make any assumptions on whether it is fit for purpose or not based on what your "mate" says (even if your "mate" is a qualified/certified expert on rally cages) You need, at the very least, to hear the manufacturers opinion I would have thought to make the decision about whether to sell it on or not ... that is, after all, the reason you started the post isn't it .... ? No idea who the manufacturer is, even if there is one??? Dont worry, i know its defo not an OSF one, and never implied it was!
X-pack-Glyn Posted December 10, 2009 Author Report Posted December 10, 2009 Scrapped the front part... If someone wants the rear they can have it for a few if not il lob it too.
