The 2 red RS1800's

I know they made 2 in red one being Venetian Red the other Carnival Red and I know one survives I saw a picture on the net once i'm sure it was the Venetian Red one, I read on here that the other was destroyed in a fire in Ireland. I just wondered if anyone had any other information (why 2 were allowed to be red etc) or pictures of the two red cars.

one of them was rebuilt to the spec it was when it left the factory and is a stunning motor it was red because a customer went into a show room and asked to buy a red one so ford made it for him, don't know about the other though.

 

Tho other is thought to be laying in bits in someones garage.

I saw the red one at a Farnham pub meet last year. I almost missed it because it was riding on 70 profile tyres and looked standard but very good. Then I got closer and realised what I was looking at and how good it really was (concours).

 

Absolutely stunning and the owner was a really nice bloke too.

Nice one guys, it looks like that one is the Venetian Red one. I take it Ford didn't put the blue stripes on as it was a red car and they didn't think it would look right (Ford were very particular about what colours you could match in stripes/vinyl roofs and interiors).

 

Lets hope the other one is in a garage awaiting work and didn't go up in flames in Ireland.

So JJN100N is the other red one (Carnival Red), a press car. It doesn't come up on the DVLA site so most probably scrapped. Also another press car RS1800 JJN981N doesn't come up either but I think that was the one a journalist wrote off.

 

I just checked in one of my books and saw I have that article it states that JJN100N (red one) doesn't have stripes.
