ray1609 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 im one of those pain in the ass peoeple!!! but hoppeflly someone can help me my capri...the alternator light is on, i have no indicators or rear screen heater or brake lights, then when i do brake the alternator light gets brighter and the rev counter drops to nothing atall any ideas??? cheers chaps

bortaf Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Surely that would put the brake fluid/handbrake light on not the alt light Probably the alt mate the lights there to tell you it's stuffed get a tester at the battery if you have less than 14 volts with the engine running the alt is stuffed BUT try removing the plug on the back of the alt first and cleaning it they do rust and make a bad connection some times, worth a try

ray1609 Posted January 19, 2010 Author Report Posted January 19, 2010 GRRRRR Pain in the ass bloody car!!!!! makes me angry i was expecting to find a nice cluster of earths behind the dash,, prooved me wrong didnt it!!!!
