Smudger105e Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Saw a white Mk2 Escort 4 door being loaded onto a trailer in Tesco car park in ********* this afternoon at about 3 pm. Probably nothing untoward, but reg number was ******* I have the tow car number if required admin edit 2011
FredTransit Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Best call the police and discuss it mate, would the owner be so upset if you did, specially if it was being stolen!
Smudger105e Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Good advice, Fred. Reported to Derbyshire Constabulary.
FredTransit Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Nice one If they understand what you are talking about (re OSF being nicked) they shouldn't mind following it up.
Smudger105e Posted January 28, 2010 Author Report Posted January 28, 2010 The lass who answered the phone was quite understanding, took all the details and said it would be checked out
Smudger105e Posted January 28, 2010 Author Report Posted January 28, 2010 well spotted m8 Thnaks. Me and ikletash drove round the car park and took the details, I can't take all the credit! lol I was going to say I hope it was an innocent transaction or whatever, but in a way I hope it wasn't too!
In The Pit Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 I think it may have been innocent as the car has recently been sold heres some pics of it (I remembered it from the NNN on the no. plate) http://gallery.me.com/mark.lightfoot#100157 But well done for doing what you did, we should all take an example of this, it takes nothing to jot down a reg number. I know if it was my car I wouldnt have minded someone calling the police and if it was being nicked imagine how pleased the owner would be with you.
Smudger105e Posted January 31, 2010 Author Report Posted January 31, 2010 I see it was registered in ************* was probably a half way house exchange location, and Tesco was an easy place to find... Thanks for all your congratulatory messages, I must admit it felt good to perhaps be helping someone, and as it seems that this was probably a genuine sale, I'm sure those involved will not mind either...
baz105e Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 looks like them pictures were taken on manners insustrial estate in ilkeston
NNN Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 Just done a registration search of my car and found this. I just thought I should point out the the transaction was completely innocent. It was me who you saw in the Tesco car park nearly 2 years ago loading my MK2 escort onto the trailer. The car was owned by a mechanic who's premises are opposite to the Tesco mentioned. The car has undergone a full restoration, but has been left completely standard and I still own her today.
oxb1l Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 Nice to know that we're looking out for each other Welcome ! Bill
Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 8, 2011 Admin Report Posted November 8, 2011 Well done Eagle Eyed OSF'ers (even though the post is from 2010 )
FredTransit Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Nice to have a follow up! Imagine how we would have all felt if the owner had come on and said it was stolen two years ago.....
