Hi, as stated in the subject line, I've just joined the site and I'm looking for infomation as to how to go about fitting cologne rear arches i.e. where to cut - how much to cut - how to re-join it all back together - and if i should really be cutting up pretty damn solid rear arches on a Mk1 capri at all!!!!

The car in question is a tatty looking (but very sound) MK1 facelift with a stage 4 2.1 pinto. went a bit mad the other week and bought a WST RS2600 style cologne kit with the intention of building a fairly accurate rendition of an early style Le Mans / Spa E.T.C. replica. (project has been stallling as I have all the bits to finish a really good road car [lots of N.O.S.], but craved something in race colours - but race colours without the wide arches never look right to me) Thinking that the 2.1 might make way for a 2.9 V6 Cosworth, not much bhp increase, but think it would be more drivable - think the 2.1 is more suited to an escort 1/2.

I also have a Ford Model CX (1936) - was going to fit a Flathead, but over-run with projects so this one is up for sale. a MK2 Consul (1959/60) also up for sale, as I have other oldies to tend to, and just haven't had the time to drive it much the past couple of years. A couple of Yanks, a Vespa, and a Tall Landcruiser that the local kids call a Monster Truck - I guess it is if you're 8, but its only sitting on 35's and i can still get in the drivers seat without the aid of a ladder!!

Anyway, back to the capri, If anyone has experience to share regarding the rear arches - point me in the right direction of any articles in old magazines, or has any pictures of interior and underside/under bonnet detail, or recomendations for reference books - all helpful info would be gladly appreciated.
