Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 i dont have a diagram but just been fiddling with my loom as i had battery light problems due to old wiring and fitted a diode basically if its 3 wires to the alternater well this is mine anyway one red wire goes to the battery live one goes to starter solinoid the thin blue wire goes to battery light other side of battery light goes to live ignition maybe no help to you at all not sure
Savvi Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Normal Lucas type Alternator : 2 big spade terminals large heavy red battery cables go to battery or via starter then back to battery. Smaller Spade terminal goes to one side of the ignition light, other side of light goes to and ignition feed.
GT_lenny Posted March 8, 2010 Author Report Posted March 8, 2010 so one side of the bulb has a switched live from ignition switch and other side of bulb goes to the smaller terminal on the alternator?????
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 so one side of the bulb has a switched live from ignition switch and other side of bulb goes to the smaller terminal on the alternator????? yes thats the one
GT_lenny Posted March 8, 2010 Author Report Posted March 8, 2010 fook knows what my looms been bastardized to do then
Savvi Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 You normally find the ignition live is looped from one thing to the next which makes it look harder then it is
