mk2*mad Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Ive got an engine build in process: 2.1 pinto (standard crank, rods, mahle pistons) stage 3 head twin 48's lightened flywheel are ported and polished etc What power would you expect? 1/4 mile times? how will it drive? fuel consumption? it is spiralling out of control!!
oliwally Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 There's no such thing as a stage 1/2/3 head. its something used to sell crap heads. a head needs to be machined and ported to the valves you are using and the lift generated by the cam. Also Group 1 stainless valves are 2mm too long in the stem. Could be 150bhp to 180bhp. all down to whos doing the head and if they know what they be doing
mk2*mad Posted March 26, 2010 Author Report Posted March 26, 2010 head done by vulcan engineering. Was just refered to as a stage 3 head. just wondered what sort of 1/4 mile times people can expect with this spec
DEP Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 All depends on what gearing your using,Ideally a 4.1 Is the car stripped out inside or does it have a full interior?
banarama Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 mine did very low 15,s nearly 14 on twin forties/ and in full trim
mk2*mad Posted March 26, 2010 Author Report Posted March 26, 2010 mine did very low 15,s nearly 14 on twin forties/ and in full trim what spec is your car exactly?

SmokeEm Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Sounds like a 180ish bhp spec to me and should run high 13's or low 14's.

2.1tony Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 what it runs down the strip is not all about power, depends how light/stripped out your car is , what gear/diff ratio,s you have, tyres, etc......
